Industrial Systems Design Applications

Senior design project courses are the capstones of most engineering curricula.  The main goal in the course is to provide students with a means for exercising their four years of accumulated knowledge of undergraduate education in an applied project. In many cases, the project also aims to offer the senior students a chance to tackle a real-life problem with an industrial partner. The project includes defining the problem by interacting with the industrial partner, making a system analysis, developing mathematical models, obtaining exact or approximate solutions to the problem on hand, making sensitivity analyses and reporting the solution to the industrial partner in an appropriate form.

The aim of this special session is to encourage academicians and students to present outcomes of their senior design projects, by extending their work into a conference paper format. In addition, it will establish a platform for academicians, students and industrial partners to come together and discuss the project outcomes. All senior project topics involving the development of mathematical modeling and optimization techniques, heuristic solutions, simulation models, and decision support systems for real life problems are welcomed  for submission to this special session.
